Harrie Jekkers
Harrie Jekkers is a comedian and singer-songwriter from the Netherlands. He grew up in the working class districts of The Hague, a city well known for its people with characteristic accent and down to earth humour. He studied English at the university of Groningen and worked as a teacher for some years. In 1978 he founded the band Klein Orkest together with Koos Meinders. In 1981 he scored a solohit "O, o, Den Haag" under the alias Harrie Klorkestein (anagram for Klein Orkest) which is sometimes seen as the anthem of The Hague.
